Growing in the word and in understanding

AN OVERVIEW OF THE BIBLICAL DIPLOMA COURSES SO FAR

How we think, how we live, and how we serve as believers matter. That’s why our Bible School courses are intentionally designed to help students explore the Bible — the true and living Word of God, in ways that speak directly to the challenges of today and equip us to respond to the Great Commission: to go and make disciples of all nations.

One of our first classes was on Communication Skills. The ability to communicate with wisdom is essential to building up the Body of Christ. Communication Skills equips students to share truth with clarity and compassion, but it also prepares believers to communicate effectively in everyday life — applying biblical principles to how they speak, listen, and relate to others.

In a world where half-truths and near-truths are becoming more common, it is essential to know how to study the Word of God accurately. Hermeneutics teaches believers how to rightly interpret Scripture by understanding context, language, and structure. This was also a class we took in the first half of the year to help students avoid confusion, grow in sound doctrine, and handle the Bible with reverence and clarity.

There are many religions, ideologies, and schools of thought that lift themselves in opposition to the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. At the same time, many people are asking complex questions about life, truth, and faith. The Apologetics class equipped students to understand how others think and to respond to these questions with biblical conviction and compassion, always pointing people back to the truth found in Christ.

We also explored Basic Doctrines to lay the groundwork for understanding key truths of the Christian faith — from the nature of God and salvation to the role of the Church and eternal life. These foundations are vital for every disciple.

We also covered the Old Testament Survey, a class that helps students to see the full arc of God’s redemptive plan, from creation to covenant, prophecy to promise. It reveals how the Old Testament points to Jesus and remains essential to understanding the whole counsel of God.

These courses form more than a curriculum. They shape disciples — rooted in truth, growing in wisdom, and ready to serve wherever God sends them.

The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out. ‘ Proverbs 18:15

Each of these courses is relevant to everyday life. Knowing how to share truth with grace, answer tough questions about faith, or rightly handle the Word of God, prepares us for spiritual growth and practical impact. These studies are for every believer who desires to be the salt and the light of the world.
